He has made just two appearances in the RaboDirect PRO12 this season and he's set to miss this weekend's clash with Treviso.
But Bell, who suffered similar problems in his playing days, has every faith Bowe will return stronger than ever.
"As far as Tommy is concerned he is just making sure he is right before coming back," he told the Irish Independent.
"The treatment he is getting is first class. He has been running with the squad and to be fair to him, he's looking good and training a bit more. But obviously it is in a controlled manner.
"Tommy's mental state is that he wants to be back in the mix, but only when he is ready.
"Jokingly, he's been called the 'Rehab Man' this season doing stretches and generally fitness work. But hopefully he will come good in time."
