But the versatile forward, who can play in all three front-row positions, insists his best is yet to come.
"This is a very good deal because it's a big chance for me to play for two more years at Ospreys, maybe longer," he said.
"I was injured in pre-season and I've not played this season so it has been difficult, but I'm very happy to have signed.
"For me it's a big step, it's a very good level of rugby, very good players and a friendly team. It's difficult for me because it's all new, the rugby is a little faster and more professional.
"I'm not sure when I'll be back, it depends on the physio, but I'm not rushed, maybe one month, two months or next season.
"First step for me is to recover after this injury, and I'll work well next pre-season and be ready for next season."
