And after Davies resigned from his post on March 3, Turnbull admits the future incumbent may have different ideas on how best to utilise his abilities.
However, the back-row remains confident that he can impress on the blindside when he makes the hop over to the Blues in the summer.
"This move was an opportunity to play in one position, well that was what I was told when I spoke to Phil anyway," said Turnbull. "This season I have played in all three positions, but six is where I wanted to play.
"It will be interesting whoever goes in there. Whether it's someone from within or someone from outside of Wales, it will be a clean sheet and no-one will have any reputations.
"It will be a chance to impress during that pre-season and hopefully set a stall out and show what I can do."
