The injury meant surgery and a long road to recovery for the young player but is now looking forward to returning to action for Llanelli RFC this Saturday, 5th April, as they take on Cardiff RFC at the Arms Park.
Looking ahead to the weekend's clash Steven Shingler said: "I can't wait to get back out on to the field to be honest."
"It has been a long process recovering from the surgery first of all and then going through the rehab. I was disappointed to only have played a handful of games for the Scarlets at the beginning of the season before the injury happened but that's just the nature of the game unfortunately."
"It'll be great to have a run out on Saturday with Llanelli and hopefully I can earn my place back in the Scarlets side before the end of the season and help the team achieve our goal of a top six finish and a place in next season's top flight European competition."
The 22 year old, from Hendy, made a return to the region in the summer of 2013 to rejoin his home region after a two season spell at London Irish. Shingler played five games for the Scarlets in 2010-11 scoring 34 points.
The Scarlets have depth at 10 going into next season having signed a new contract with international outside half Rhys Priestland to secure him at Parc y Scarlets and up and coming Llanelli RFC outside half Josh Lewis, 21, from Ebbw Vale and Shingler returning to full fitness.
Scarlets will be back in action at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 12th April, kick-off 6.30pm, as they take on Italians Zebre.
