Ten Treviso players will start for Jacques Brunel's side with a further three on the bench leaving coach Franco Smith with a mixture of imports and up-and-coming players.
But Williams is not going to use that as an excuse although he admits they face a steep test at Parc y Scarlets.
"We are going through a bit of a tough patch at the moment, so our target is just to get back out there and start winning again," Williams told the South Wales Evening Post.
"It is going to be difficult against the Scarlets, who are a great team. They have a lot of young guys in there and are probably the fastest team that I have played against in this league.
"We didn't win away at all last season, but our away form this season has been as good as our home form so we have got that confidence when we travel.
"I think it is about 16 we will be missing, but it gives the younger guys a chance to impress and it is pretty much the same for the other sides.
"Rugby in Treviso keeps growing. The crowds are coming out for our PRO12 games, so a strong Benetton can only be good for the national team."
