One of those draws came at home to the Scarlets in October, and they will hope to remain unbeaten against the Welsh region this season in Saturday's return fixture at Parc Y Scarlets.
But Cavinato has also set his focus on the long-term, and wants to see his side tighten up both their defence and attack so that they can progress even further next year.
He said: "Our aim for the season was to grow and finish with more than 20 points in the table: objective managed. Now we need to show cool heads to improve and ensure we perform even better next year.
"We not yet clinical enough in attack, while in defence we still give away some silly penalties, giving up points that we don't need to.
"Next season we will have to clean up those aspects of our game and find the solution: playing more quickly than this season and improving our attacking attitude to score. We have scored this season, but a lot less than we should have.
"We've improved in defence but the tries conceded against Newport were schoolboy tries."
