The result saw them close the gap on third-placed Munster to three points with Ulster a further two ahead while Warriors have also played a game less than their rivals.
This Friday sees Cusiter's men take on Ulster at Scotstoun and the Scotland international knows they must continue to build on last Friday's fourth consecutive RaboDirect PRO12 victory if they want to close in on second spot.
"The fact we were the first team to win at Thomond this season and with it being such a big game for us in terms of the play-offs it was a very special win," he told Warriors' official website.
"We knew it was going to take a massive effort to get the win and I'm just so proud the whole squad.
"Friday's game against Ulster at Scotstoun is absolutely massive for us. They got a good bonus-point win on Friday against Connacht and in terms of the play-offs it's absolutely huge for us.
"We won over in Belfast at the start of the season and didn't play that well and both teams have obviously come on a lot since then so this is a huge game."
