Edinburgh Rugby forwards coach and Play On ambassador, Stevie Scott, lifted the Veterans' 7s trophy in Dubai in 2012 with a host of fellow former internationalists and was delighted the club are creating more opportunities for people to stay in the game.
He said: "The Play On event is shaping up to be a great night and everyone is welcome.
"You can come along and play some rugby, have a meal and a drink after and be home in time to enjoy the rest of your weekend. It's really that straight forward."
For just £3 per person, Play On offers the opportunity for small sided, full-contact rugby games for groups of friends, colleagues or local rugby players, and includes a post match meal.
Edinburgh Rugby development manager, Doc McKelvey, said: "We know that people's lives are busier than ever, and sometimes that means sacrifices have to be made.
"Our Play On pilot gives adults the opportunity to stay involved in the sport and have fun with their mates without too much commitment, while we've also had interest from local clubs who can't quite find the numbers or enough games for their 2nd and 3rd XVs."
