The 29-year-old second row has been the heartbeat of the Ospreys' engine room ever since bursting onto the scene in the 2005-6 season and they will need him at his very best in the closing stages of the season.
Jones has already amassed more than 100 appearances in the Celtic League and having committed his future to the Ospreys, he's likely to reach a century of starts sooner rather than later.
He played a key role in guiding the Ospreys to the title in both 2010 and in 2012 and despite his international commitments, he has already featured 11 times for his region in the RaboDirect PRO12 this season.
And his international commitments are considerable. Since making his Wales debut in 2006, Jones has amassed 84 caps, helping the Red Dragons to the Grand Slam in both 2008 and 2010.
He has also featured at two World Cups and on two Lions tours - captaining the tourists in the decisive third Test against Australia last summer to guide them to a first series win for 16 years.
