Ulster's place in the RaboDirect PRO12 play-offs is secure, while Munster will be vying to better their league position - and earn a home semi-final in the process - with a win.
Munster are currently a point behind second-placed Glasgow Warriors, who face Zebre at home at the weekend.
But for Black, who knows his side cannot finish higher or lower than fourth, the game at Thomond Park is still an important one in terms of bragging rights.
"We know Munster," Black told the Irish Times. "Especially being at home they come out from the start.
"We've done our analysis on them. They are a very physical side, a strong pack and they've got some strong runners in their midfield.
"If we get our own stuff in order, have the 15 on the pitch and work better as a unit we can put that performance in.
"We have basically just looked at ourselves. We have to take it to them from the start and fight it out."
