Leinster forwards coach Leo Cullen says he hopes to call upon captain Jamie Heaslip and Devin Toner for Saturday's match against the Scarlets to shore up his side's leaky defence.
The Irish international duo were absent from the province's 22-20 defeat to Glasgow Warriors in their GUINNESS PRO12 opener where Leinster found themselves 19-0 down before half time.
Cullen admits the defence was not up to scratch and with Heaslip and Toner, who made 24 PRO12 appearances combined last season, back in the fold the coach hopes the mistakes made at Scotstoun will be a thing of the past.
"We gave away two pretty cheap tries - one where the ball pops out of the scrum, another where we ripped the ball free in a tackle and Josh Strauss runs 40 metres unopposed, under the sticks," he told irishrugby.ie.
"That's 12 pretty cheap points. I thought the guys battled back pretty well from 19-0 down and the second half was a bit better.
"We'll have a few (international players) back (this week), hopefully. That national management cycle comes to an end pretty much after this week. Generally most guys are back available for selection."
