Willie Faloon's late try gave the Irish side a 14-13 victory at BT Murrayfield on Friday but Scotland international Ford is adamant Edinburgh are primed to bounce back.
Despite having to travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on Ospreys, who have a 100 per cent record in the GUINNESS PRO12 this season, Ford says his side will draw inspiration from their opening weekend triumph away to Munster.
On that day at Thomond Park, a Jack Cuthbert score earned the Scottish side a 14-13 win and the hooker is keen to see Edinburgh replicate that type of performance on Sunday.
However, he admitted that aspects of the Connacht display must be corrected, and fast, if they are to find success against Ospreys.
"We had some opportunities and led for large parts of the Connacht game, but indiscipline cost us in the end," Ford said.
"We've been working on trying to sustain our performances throughout the season. The previous three games, the performances have been of a sustained physicality but we let it drop massively today and it cost us.
"We need to take the performance on the chin but we need to make sure that we do ourselves justice in the next game week.
"We know we can go away from home and pick up a win like we did against Munster last week. We need to do the same at Ospreys.
"If we concentrate on our performance and get that right we'll give ourselves a chance."
