The Llanelli outfit remain winless following the comprehensive 42-12 loss on Saturday and a thrilling 32-32 opening-weekend draw with Ulster.
Scarlets will look to secure their first victory of the campaign against bottom side Treviso this weekend, who themselves are yet to register a point so far.
And coach Pivac revealed he had to share a few home truths with his squad after the disappointing Leinster result, despite being only two weeks into the new campaign.
"Some players will take reviews well, with others it can have a negative response," he told the South Wales Evening Post. "But I thought the boys took things on the chin from each other as well as the coaching staff.
"They had the right attitude, they want to get it right and they know they let themselves down against Leinster.
"That game was a big speed hump and one we want to get over pretty quickly. The games with Ulster and Leinster were always going to show up the areas where we need to work on.
"But I would rather be looking at it long and hard at this time of the year than in four weeks' time.
"Clearly, this is a big week with Treviso coming up, and at home we are certainly looking to right some of the wrongs from last weekend.
"The All Blacks will tell you that playing the same opposition a week later, you can put a lot right.
"We are not the All Blacks and don't pretend to be, but rugby history will show you that seven days is a long time and attitude is a big thing in this game."
