Nick McLennan moves from left to right wing with Tim Visser returning to take the number 11 shirt and Sam Hidalgo-Clyne coming into the starting line-up at scrum half from the bench.
In the forwards, James Hilterbrand and W P Nel graduate from the bench to hooker and tighthead respectively with Anton Bresler at lock and Mike Coman - who will captain the side - at flanker also moving into the XV.
Meanwhile hooker Neil Cochrane comes on to the bench, on the back of solid performances for Boroughmuir and Heriot's in the BT Premiership over the last few weeks.
Edinburgh last defeated Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium in April 2009 though won their most recent away fixture, the season opener against Munster at Thomond Park earlier this month. At home last season, Edinburgh posted a good (31-25) win against a powerful Ospreys outfit at Meggetland.
Head coach Alan Solomons said: "Playing the league leaders away from home is a huge challenge. The Ospreys are pretty much at full strength, with Alun Wyn Jones at the helm and Justin Tipuric returning from injury.
"It will be a real test for us but at the same time a great opportunity for the players selected."
The match will be screened live on S4C with highlights duly available on Sky Sports online.
