The 21-year-old joined the squad at Scotstoun in 2012/2013 to train full time but could only count four appearances off the bench until last Friday.
But with two of those outings coming this season, Ashe, who has overcome a series of hamstring injuries, was promoted to the starting XV as Connacht came to town over the weekend.
And he made sure to enjoy the experience, playing the full 80 minutes as Glasgow Warriors maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 39-21 win.
The result means second-placed Warriors are now tied on 18 points with fellow unbeaten side Ospreys and Ashe, who won his first cap with Scotland this summer, believes the team look dangerous in attack.
"I've been here for a couple of years now coming through the academy system. I've watched a lot of the matches from the stand and all you want to do is get out there," he told the Glasgow Evening Times.
"It great to go out there and get a win. The crowd were amazing again in what was near enough a full house. It's brilliant to play in front of that.
"It was a fantastic win. To get over 30 points against Connacht is tremendous.
"We kind of slipped up defensively a couple of times, which let them in.
"But I thought we attacked really well. A lot of flair, a lot of breakaway tries which was nice to see. First half the scrum was solid and it gave a good platform, it was nice to get few passes off the back there."
