The two Irish giants go head-to-head at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday looking to steal an early march in the league table.
So far both have won two and lost two of their first four games - Munster actually went down 19-14 at home to the Ospreys last time out.
But 26-year-old Copeland, who joined from Cardiff Blues in the summer, admits this game could be the perfect chance to get his feet under the table.
"I am trying to immerse myself in the culture, what is expected of me and the team," Copeland told the Irish Examiner.
"There were lots of reasons why I came home and why I joined here. The main one was to try and win trophies and try and work my way into the starting team and eventually into a green jersey.
"They are the big goals. Playing well in these games is a big part of that, so I guess there is a responsibility and expectation to perform. For these big occasions, you have to bring your A game."
