After a mixed start to the season, Scarlets picked up their second win of the campaign thanks to a 26-13 victory at Parc Y Scarlets.
Gareth Owen and Kristian Phillips both crossed the whitewash while Rhys Priestland kicked 13 points from the tee as Scarlets moved up to sixth in the table.
Next up for Evans' men is a trip to face Munster who got back to winning ways with a 34-23 triumph over Leinster.
But Evans believes his side should have no fear when they make the trip to Ireland on Friday, after picking up the first derby day bragging rights of the season.
"It was pleasing, we got the win in the end. Dragons made it very difficult. We came up against a very resolute defence," he said.
"We had the majority of the possession, the Dragons defence was strong and forced us into a lot of turnovers.
"We didn't really control the game as we wished in the first half but we are happy with the way it went in the end.
"It was the old traditional Munster who turned up against Leinster. They had been unimpressive until that victory, obviously they will be up for against a game against Leinster.
"From our point of view we do have a short turnaround, we've just got to make sure we freshen the boys up, build on the derby win and make sure we get a couple of wins on the bounce which would be good."
