Ulster find themselves flying high so far this season and are currently the highest placed Irish province in the table.
And, as they gear up for European encounters with Leicester Tigers and Toulon, Marshall is keen to ensure he makes his mark.
"I'm enjoying it. Obviously with the news of Ruan picking up a knock in the summer, in terms of the championship I was hoping to try and get a string of games together," he told the Irish Times.
"I'm feeling I've got nicely bedded in this season, I'm enjoying my rugby.
"We've had good wins against Edinburgh and Glasgow and are a bit more buoyed but we know this (Leicester Tigers) will be the toughest test we've had this season.
"They had a good win there last week against Harlequins. They'll be saying 'right let's start this new competition well'.
"Some guys get injuries, some guys get opportunities they aren't expecting so again you've players who have an added impetus to do well. We have to respect them and bring our own game."
