The Ospreys lost a number of experienced forwards in the summer and suffered a couple of heavy defeats in pre-season.
However, even without the likes of Adam Jones, Richard Hibbard, Ryan Jones and Ian Evans the Welsh region have hit the ground running - winning all six of their opening GUINNESS PRO12 games.
Next up is a European tie against Benetton Treviso on Sunday and lock Jones is confident Tandy can keep the run of form going.
"I think we are fortunate that we have got a guy who is not long out of the jersey as our head coach," Jones told Wales Online.
"We lost a lot of guys last year, but we are kicking on from that.
"A lot has been said about the comings and goings and the people we have and haven't got.
"Sometimes when people move on other people step up and take the opportunity.
"We have got a good environment and we are training with a purpose.
"A lot was said that we weren't going the right way, but we try to drag each other along and play how we want to play under Steve's tenure."
