Cornell Du Preez was added to those sidelined last weekend when he picked up a leg injury and, with David Denton and Fraser McKenzie also among those absent, Solomons' team is without some of its experienced stars.
But with the likes of Chris Dean, Jamie Ritchie, Jake Kerr, Magnus Bradbury and Alex Glashan waiting in the wings it could be a chance for the next generation of stars to stake their claim.
However, Solomons is keen to ensure his youngsters' progress isn't rushed.
"You have to consider the development of the players. It is important that you develop them correctly and you slot them into the team at the appropriate moments," he told the Scotsman.
"My big concern will always be for the player - you have to do the right thing by the young player and bringing them into the top team has to be managed very carefully.
"Yes, we have thrown in Rory Sutherland pretty quickly this year, but that has been through circumstances and he has had Ross Ford alongside him in the front-row which makes a massive difference.
"The rest of them I want to continue to get game time with their clubs and in the 'A' games and they will get their chances at the right time."
