The Blues are without a GUINNESS PRO12 win since the opening day of the season, but Gethin Jenkins, Cory Allen, Alex Cuthbert and skipper Sam Warburton's international credentials have not suffered.
All four have been included in Warren Gatland's squad ahead of visits from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa to the Millennium Stadium.
But with back-row forward Josh Turnbull and back Rhys Patchell knocking on the door, along with legendary prop Adam Jones, Hammett believes the Blues can continue to be a hotbed for top international talent.
"In time I want the club to be seen as a club that develops young players and turns them into Welsh internationals," he said.
"Both [Turnbull and Patchell] are players on the up, who have got a heck of a lot of games this season to continue to prove themselves.
"At the moment it's a real competitive environment here for them to make the starting side, so that should only make it better."
