Ospreys have a 100 per cent record in the league this year, including a 17-15 win over the Dragons, but Jones' troops put them to the sword in an imperious attacking display on Friday night as they ran out 51-35 winners.
Ross Wardle opened the scoring at Bridgend Ford Brewery Field before a pair of Lewis Evans tries from driving mauls put the result almost beyond doubt with less than a quarter of the game gone.
A double from Cory Hill and one from Jonathan Evans made the score 48-0 before five second-half scores from Hanno Dirksen, Dafydd Howells, Cai Griffiths, Aisea Nagota and a penalty try added some respectability for the Ospreys.
The Dragons lie tenth in the GUINNESS PRO12 table and may well be second favourites when they host fourth-placed Munster next weekend but Jones is adamant they are primed to upset the odds.
"This had to be a dress rehearsal for Munster at home," he told the South Wales Argus. "Our tactics paid dividends, we were very accurate in the first half and our error count was extremely low.
"It was a really good performance and we will be a little bit more confident for Munster. We pulled together, played as units and as a team and we were very effective in what we did.
"On Friday we will have few chances and they will be sterner opposition, so we will just have to fight harder because we will get rewarded less.
"Munster have a very strong side, as we saw at Cardiff Arms Park two weeks ago and they will be very competitive.
"Teams like Munster, the Ospreys, Leinster and Glasgow understand how the GUINNESS PRO12 fixture list draws out over a year and prepare well in advance with a good backbone of overseas players to carry them through these periods."
