After starting the first two GUINNESS PRO12 matches of this season, Morgan's progress took a hit when he suffered a knee injury against the Ospreys.
However the 19-year-old made his return against the same opposition on Friday night, starting on the wing before moving to midfield late on in a thrilling 51-35 victory.
And while admitting it is the No.13 shirt that he has got his eye on, Morgan was happy to show he can do a job out wide as competition for places heats up at the Dragons from here on out.
"It was good to be back against the Ospreys and there was a lot of space on the wing but I prefer playing 13 and it was nice to have a little bit of a go there," Morgan told the South Wales Argus.
"I am just happy to be on the field and will play anywhere that the coaches ask me to.
"It's been good to get some boys back from injury in training and we have some numbers in the backs sessions now. Me, Ross Wardle and Ashley Smith are back and Pat Leach and Jack Dixon aren't far off either so soon there will be really strong competition for places in midfield.
"We need that to help improve; we need to push each other and nobody can be comfortable in their place."
