The current GUINNESS PRO12 champions have struggled for consistency this term and find themselves with three defeats and a draw from their opening nine matches.
But, with two European fixtures against Harlequins on the horizon, O'Connor is targeting momentum-building wins before they return to GUINNESS PRO12 action against Connacht before Christmas.
"Our philosophy is finding a competitive advantage against the opposition to win the game. That's our style of rugby," said O'Connor. "The aesthetics of it are largely irrelevant.
"We need to go to the Stoop with a plan to get a result. We need to win the game.
"Away from home in Europe, you've got to make sure your discipline is good, you've got to make sure your set-piece is good.
"You've got to make sure you look after the ball. If you deliver those things you manage the scoreboard, you manage field position and you give yourself every chance."
And O'Connor admits he is looking to take the lead from Joe Schmidt's Ireland side after they completed a hat-trick of wins against South Africa, Georgia and Australia last month.
He added: "It's about coming up with a plan for this group of blokes to beat the guys on the other side of the line this week.
"That's the end of the game, that's it. That's what we do. Did Ireland do it in November? 100 per cent. Are we trying to do that? 100 per cent."
