After a turbulent period Hammett's men got back to winning ways in the GUINNESS PRO12 last time around - picking up a 36-25 over Treviso.
And they followed that with a 24-14 win over the Exiles on Saturday in the first of their European encounters against the English side.
Richard Smith, Lloyd Williams and Kristian Dacey all scored tries for the Blues as they powered to victory but Hammett refused to get carried away, claiming his side must produce the goods on their trip across the border next week.
"Nothing really matters until next weekend," he said. "It's nice to have got that win and nice to have at least played the patterns we wanted if not always executed it. Some individuals really stepped up their performances.
"It's half the job done and nothing more. London Irish know how hard it is to travel here and I imagine it will be exactly the same the other way around.
"If we can bring the same energy next weekend then that will be a positive. It's the first time we have played against London Irish and we will regroup and see where we can make changes to our game plan."
