The visitors trailed 26-9 on 75 minutes last weekend before hooker Duncan Casey scored an intercept try, with fly-half Ian Keatley converting and then landing a last-gasp penalty to secure a vital losing bonus point.
Although the result marks the first time Munster have ever lost the round three and round four back-to-back games in European competition, Foley believes the experience will be key to his side's GUINNESS PRO12 challenge.
And with the current leaders facing third-placed Glasgow Warriors and Irish rivals Leinster and Connacht in the next three rounds, the Munster boss has urged his players to maintain their high standards.
"The past fortnight things didn't go our way but we didn't tag ourselves as victims, we got on with it," Foley told the Irish Examiner.
"We turned up to work and we tried to get performances.
"We did a lot of good things but at stages during the game we did crucial things at times that ultimately led to our downfall.
"But these guys need to be exposed to this level of rugby and we go back into the PRO12 and we're top of that table and we have got to play the teams around us now over Christmas.
"It's a high-end place to be so we have got to make sure our performances are right.
"There are crucial moments in games where we can build pressure on the opposition but also we must adapt to alleviate pressure."
