The telethon, which has become an annual tradition in Treviso, kicked off earlier this month in Treviso's Piazza dei Signori and will carry on into the New Year.
This week, the main attraction is a banquet at the entrance of the hospital at Ca' Foncello.
The telethon features actors, comedians and singers as well as extraordinary people who live with these diseases every day, telling their story, their hell, their hopes and above all, their victories.
There are scientists, scholars and researchers, explaining how the fundraising will help with the tremendous progress for the treatment of rare diseases.
And the city's rugby players are determined to play their part, with members of the squad offering their help and support throughout the month-long effort.
With all this, the city of Treviso is hoping to once again make a huge difference after coordinator Laura Agostinetto received a symbolic prize for last year's dedication to fundraising for research.
