Cardiff are gearing up for three consecutive Welsh derbies in the coming weeks, first taking on Scarlets this weekend before back-to-back clashes with Newport Gwent Dragons either side of New Year.
Allen won his second cap for Wales in the last month, coming on as a replacement in the narrow loss to Australia, before snapping up a try in Cardiff's defeat to London Irish in Europe last weekend.
And the 21-year-old is relishing the opportunity to get back to GUINNESS PRO12 action, hoping he can make good use of the lessons he learned from Wales' finest.
"It's a busy Christmas period ahead," he told WalesOnline.
"It was nice to get on the score-sheet against London Irish, but it's disappointing not to be going into the GUINNESS PRO12 with another win. We can't dwell on that this week.
"It's a quick turnaround now for the game against the Scarlets and I'll playing against a few friends there.
"Even though I didn't play that much for Wales, I just learned so much up there.
"Every day you are learning and, in my case, you are learning from world class players in your position who have been around a while.
"It's just little things, they do rub off on you. You are sitting down going through games and them talking me through what they are seeing just opens my eyes a bit.
"I was quite excited to bring what I had learned from up there back down here to the Blues and just start playing again."
