The four teams currently occupying the four play-off spots are all in action against each other with Munster travelling to Glasgow Warriors, in a repeat of last year's play-off semi-final, and Ospreys hosting Ulster in a Sky Sports double header on Saturday.
At the Liberty Stadium Ulster will be looking to bounce back from defeat in Europe to the Scarlets and it could come down to a battle between the kickers.
Dan Biggar's return to the GUINNESS PRO12 will mean he has the chance to progress his superb record from the tee, the fly-half has kicked his last 11 in the competiton and 26 from 28 overall to top the Rhino Golden Boot stats with 92.86%.
Not far behind is Ulster's Ian Humphreys who has made 26 of 31 kicks at goal and indeed leads Biggar in the overall points table with 71 to the Welshman's 70.
On top of that Ospreys scrum-half Rhys Webb remains top of the try scoring charts in the league with five, despite not playing a league game for his region since October.
Webb has five tries from six appearances this season and with Andrew Trimble, Jeff Hassler and Gareth Davies all out injured Munster's Simon Zebo is best placed to jump ahead of him, the winger sitting on four tries.
But for Zebo the real goal will be the team as Munster put their five-game league winning run on the line up at Scotstoun, a place that they have never won.
Elsewhere defending champions Leinster will be desperate to return to the play-off spots when they host Irish rivals Connacht.
The men in blue have been victorious in their last 18 encounters at the RDS and in Ian Madigan have the league's top points scorer (86) and second most accurate marksman with 28 from 31 (90.32%).
Elsewhere the Cardiff Blues host the Scarlets, for whom Rhys Priestland could be in line for his 100th career PRO12 apperaance.
The Blues have won four of their last five fixtures at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park and have not lost at home to a fellow Welsh region since Ospreys were the visitors 12 months ago.
Scarlets meanwhile are winless in their last ten away matches in all tournaments since a trip to Treviso in the PRO12 on February 8.
Newport Gwent Dragons host Zebre with the Welsh region looking to add to their solitary PRO12 victory this season - that also came at home against fellow Italian opposition in Benetton Treviso.
And Edinburgh Rugby host Treviso with the Scottish side looking to maintain an unbeaten run at BT Murrayfield that stretches back to September.
