At the tender age of 21 and in just his third season with GUINNESS PRO12 outfit Benetton Treviso, the centre has already cemented himself as an important member of Jacques Brunel's Italy squad.
With three tries in his first two starts for the Azzurri - including an eye-catching double against reigning Six Nations champions Wales earlier this year - he ensured he caught the eye.
Campagnaro went on to start ten Test matches in 2014 and is surely set to add to that tally in a World Cup year, but the youngster will no doubt be eyeing up a key role in reversing Treviso's fortunes.
Without a win so far this season, the Italians are in need of the pace and creativity that saw Campagnaro cross over twice against high-flying Glasgow Warriors in October.
And if they are to arrest their unwanted run, Umberto Casellato's side can expect their flying midfielder to play an important role.
