Although high winds and rain meant three schools were forced to cancel their plans, over thirty players visited schools from Kelso to Craigmount, Preston Lodge, Liberton, North Berwick, Ross HS, Whitburn Academy and Merchiston Castle.
Speaking at Craigmount High School in Edinburgh, David Denton said: "The schools' initiative is great. It's nice for us to get out and see the young talent that's around in Scotland at the moment."
He also took the opportunity to thank the Edinburgh supporters for standing by the club this season.
"The home support have been outstanding. We've been fairly inconsistent this season…and it's incredible to see the amount of fans who have stuck by us.
"I think as we get to the end of this tough period we've been in, I think it's important it continues, all we can say is thank you and we bring the results in."
The players also encouraged the youngsters to take in some live rugby over the festive season, as Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors meet in the seasonal GUINNESS PRO12 double-header to contest the 1872 Cup.
With tickets already sold out for the smaller venue of Scotstoun and the opening leg on 27 December, the only chance those currently without tickets have to see the two sides compete against each other this season is to make sure they buy for the deciding leg at BT Murrayfield on 2 January (kick-off 7.35pm).
To ensure as many youngsters as possible can come along and enjoy the game, Edinburgh are promoting the Kids for a Quid deal where under-18s will be able to watch the match for just £1!
