Jones has made 11 appearances in the GUINNESS PRO12 this season for the Blues, but he hasn't been picked for Wales since being brought off after just 30 minutes of the opening Test defeat to South Africa last June.
But with Rhodri Jones dislocating a shoulder after coming on as a substitute for Wales tight-head Samson Lee, during Scarlets' 22-10 defeat of GUINNESS PRO12 leaders Ospreys in Llanelli last weekend, Jones' chances of a recall may have improved.
And Hammett feels the 33-year-old, who has been capped 95 times by his country, is ready to return to the international fold.
"Absolutely," he told Wales Online. "Adam has been playing well all season, not just as a scrummager but his general fitness and work around the field.
"We know he's not going to set the world on-fire [running around and ball carrying] but certainly some of the detail and micro-stuff I have been looking for he has been doing."
