A knee injury in the Welsh derby against Newport Gwent Dragons at the start of October meant that scrum half Davies had to sit out the remainder of 2014 missing out on Scarlets' opening rounds in victory over Glasgow at Parc y Scarlets as well as the opening four rounds of the European Rugby Champions Cup.
Davies is named on the replacements bench for this evening's game against Scottish opposition Glasgow Warriors at the Scotstoun Stadium with his namesake Aled named in the starting XV.
Scrum half Gareth Davies said that he's pleased to be back; "It's been a long three months. It's nice to get back and hopefully get some more game time in the next few weeks."
Scarlets travel to Glasgow in buoyant mood after an important 22-10 victory over Ospreys at Parc y Scarlets last weekend and have already beaten this evening's opposition back in November at Parc y Scarlets.
Speaking ahead of the all-important clash for the Scarlets in the Guinness PRO12 Davies went on to say: "It's massive for us. We needed that [the victory over Ospreys] to get a bit of confidence before a big few weeks ahead.
"The boys are feeling positive, our confidence is up and so hopefully we can get the win.
"We can't afford to slip up. We need to cement our place in the top six and we're still targeting the top four."
Scarlets take on Glasgow this evening before the Guinness PRO12 takes a break whilst the European Rugby Champions Cup pool games conclude.
The West Wales region will then face Connacht, Munster, Leinster and Edinburgh in quick succession all at fortress Parc y Scarlets.
