The GUINNESS PRO12 leaders fell to defeat against Northampton Saints on the weekend - the 20-9 reversal putting an end to any slim hopes of progressing to a European quarter-final.
But Jones believes there is every chance his side can prove their doubters wrong by claiming a top-four berth domestically.
"There are probably a small proportion of people out there that still don't think we deserve to be where we are," Jones told Wales Online.
"They are welcome to that. People's perspective probably won't change until we get to the PRO12 play-offs, but I'm pretty happy to be part of it.
"We will continue to work hard and keep pushing for a quarter-final spot in the future. We have to look at next year now. There's a bit of stick and carrot after this year. At least we know where we need to improve.
"It's funny. We can probably take a lot from the losses we've had in a strange way because we have been so close."
