The blow of a narrow defeat to Lyon on Saturday, despite having led at half-time, was softened slightly by a losing bonus point that keeps them top of the pool.
However, the weekend's results now leave them with a winner-takes-all clash against Bordeaux-Begles this week.
Edinburgh's GUINNESS PRO12 form this season has been indifferent, but Solomons wants to see the kind of form served up in their 1872 Cup win over Glasgow Warriors at the turn of the year.
"Discipline let us down [against Lyon]," Solomons told the Scotsman. "If we had gone to the changing rooms at 13-3 instead of 13-10, the second half could have been far different.
"We're disappointed because, despite being off our game and making too many mistakes, we still felt this was a game we should have won.
"We have a lot of respect for Bordeaux, we know they like to play attractive running rugby. But we know if we are to qualify, we have a match to win at Murrayfield on Friday."
