The 22-year-old last played a competitive game in Ireland's colours against Argentina in June before a hip problem put paid to his progress.
The forward went under the knife to rectify the injury and he's set to play his first match since suffering from the setback against Leicester Tigers on Saturday.
And Henderson says he can't wait to get back on the pitch and help Ulster in domestic action.
"The last match I played was in June and then I had a frustrating pre-season," Henderson told the Irish Examiner.
"The hip just didn't get right and I went to see a specialist who said I needed an operation.
"Then returning to hard training after Christmas I had a slight hamstring strain from all the running. But over the last couple of weeks it's been full training sessions.
"I'm itching to go after a seven-month pre-season. The gym is like a prison I can't wait to get out on the pitch and play some rugby."
