The hosts started brightly, taking a 22-7 lead into the interval, but Stade kept them on their toes, offering them some dogged resistance to try and cut the deficit.
However, ultimately Newport powered through and full-back Rhys Jones put the icing on the cake with a penalty kick in the dying minutes.
Waiting in the knockout stages is a mouth-watering derby with GUINNESS PRO12 rivals Cardiff Blues and Landman insists his side deserve to be heading into the last eight.
"We are really pleased to have got the job done and we want to go as far as we can in Europe," he told Wales Online.
"I thought there was a good balance about how we played against Stade, between the forwards and the backs. The backs are making the most of the ball which makes the job of the forwards a lot easier.
"They had a quality back-line out there - you could see that by how they threw the ball around. We let them into the game a bit in the second half through some ill-discipline but I don't think we ever looked like losing it."
