Visser has featured in all-but three of Edinburgh's GUINNESS PRO12 matches so far this campaign scoring four tries in the process - including a double in the 1872 cup clash with Glasgow in January.
It is that form that sees Visser take his place in the starting line-up at the Stade de France this week and the Dutch-born player wants to ensure his team get off to a strong start.
"We can really put it to France because I don't think many outside of our own camp believe we will achieve anything," he said.
"We want to get the Six Nations off to a good start. By no means will it be easy but if we play like we've played in the past few games we'll put ourselves in a good position.
"It's important you get off to a good start. If we were able to beat France away it would be a massive scalp.
"My only memory of the Six Nations was two years ago when we finished third.
"I'd like to better that this time - it's hard to make predictions because it's so competitive."
