It's been a mixed bag for Scarlets so far this season who have five wins from their 13 GUINNESS PRO12 matches.
Last time out Wayne Pivac's men showed glimpses of their fighting spirit with a 27-18 victory over London Irish, despite yellow cards for Steven Shingler and Ken Owens within two minutes of each other.
But a repeat of that performance in Manchester will be a different proposition all together, with key players being rested ahead of a return to GUINNESS PRO12 action and a fresh-faced team set to take to the field.
However, Cunningham is relishing the challenge that lies ahead.
"This is an opportunity to see some players in our pathway and in our relationship with our feeder clubs," he told the South Wales Evening Post.
"These boys deserve an opportunity to show what they can do.
"The character of the group was pleasing against London Irish, we reacted well to being down to 13 men and with injuries during the game.
"This is a great challenge for us, it is a tough place to go, but the boys are looking forward to it."
