The 24-year-old has made nine starts in the GUINNESS PRO12 this season and helped Edinburgh kick-off 2015 with back-to-back wins, including wrestling the 1872 Cup away from Scottish counterparts Glasgow Warriors.
Despite missing Scotland's autumn international programme, Fife's recent domestic form convinced head coach Vern Cotter to throw him an international lifeline this spring.
He began Saturday's encounter with France among the replacements, but was quickly drafted into the action after Tommy Seymour suffered a hip injury and dotted down a minute before half-time.
And should the Glasgow Warriors wing Seymour fail to recover in time to turn out for Scotland when they welcome Wales to BT Murrayfield next Saturday, Fife believes he would make a more than capable replacement.
"It's a talented squad," he said.
"We have great wingers and good competition, and hopefully I've done enough to stay in the side, but who knows? Fingers crossed.
"I thought the game plan went well, at times in the second half we maybe got a bit lost and we needed to play a bit more in their half.
"But every day we're going to be improving and next week we should be back on form."
