Ardron excited by promising Ospreys youngsters

The Ospreys, who must cope without some of their experienced internationals such as Dan Biggar and Rhys Webb over the next month, have nevertheless shown an impressive strength in depth.

Beating Bath at the Rec is no mean feat and they did just that as Matthew Dwyer's last-gasp try, allied to the kicking of Sam Davies, clinched a 13-10 victory last weekend.

Steve Tandy's men will need to show the same fighting spirit at Myreside this Friday and after pummelling Edinburgh 62-13 at home earlier this year, Ardron is expecting far more resistance this time around.

"A win like that is huge," the back-row told the South Wales Evening Post.

"With all those guys stepping in, confidence is something that takes time to build and a win like that can increase it so much.

"Obviously, we are a younger group, but it is exciting as well. It is really driving the standards and everyone is keen to put down their mark, there are people fighting for their roles for the rest of the season.

"(Edinburgh) have been going well lately and I don't think they are affected (by international calls) like other teams.

"Over the next month or so we are playing some of the top teams and Edinburgh are going to be as good as some of the top teams.

"But in this block, four wins is what we are going in for and what we are expecting."
