Morisi sustained the problem while representing Italy in November 2013, but after a lengthy period out of the game he has returned to feature in eight GUINNESS PRO12 games for the Italian side so far this campaign, including a 17-15 win over Zebre last month.
A pair of tries capped a memorable display in his country's defeat to England on Saturday, and the Milanese centre insists it was his self-belief that ensured he made it back to the biggest stage.
"With an injury, it all depends on how you react mentally, and how you set yourself objectives," Morisi said.
"My aim was to get back playing, I committed completely to the recovery and it has gone well.
"I had never played at Twickenham before, the most I had done was sit in the stands, so I was pleased to have been able to show my abilities in the game.
"However, I'm obviously disappointed by the defeat and by some of my defensive errors, including for their fourth try.
"I take responsibility for that and hope it doesn't happen again."
