A Phil Burleigh try and Tom Heathcote's boot gave Edinburgh - looking for their ninth straight win on home soil - the lead at half-time, with Ruan Pienaar keeping the visitors in the game with a converted try and penalty of his own.
But Darren Cave's 53rd minute score proved decisive as Ulster recorded a GUINNESS PRO12 double over Edinburgh, and Solomons was forced to admit individual errors had cost his side the game
"Our kicking was a major factor in costing us that game," he said. "Our kicking out of hand wasn't good enough and our kicking off the floor for goal wasn't good enough.
"There were 12 easy points that we just let go begging, and then at the end key errors with two skewed throws into the line-out cost us, so that's very disappointing.
"Our execution wasn't accurate at all, both in terms of kicking and our accuracy in terms of putting the ball into the line-out correctly.
"We had three line-outs on their line - the chances of scoring from that are high. We had opportunities - we just messed them up.
"It's very, very frustrating for me because that's a game we should have won."
