The 20-17 victory at BT Murrayfield moved Ulster up to second in the GUINNESS PRO12 table with just seven games remaining.
The race for the play-off spots appears as if it will come down to the top five clubs, with fifth-placed Ospreys currently just three points behind Doak's troops.
That means every game is crucial for the Ulstermen and a clash with Scarlets underneath the Friday night lights at Kingspan Stadium is their next point of focus.
The sides shared the spoils after an enthralling 32-32 draw in the very first round of GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures this term but Doak is adamant they won't be going one better unless they cut out the basic mistakes that plagued their victory over Edinburgh.
"If we have the same discipline as against Edinburgh we won't have the same result," Doak told the Belfast Telegraph.
"It's something we've talked about all week. 15 penalties, a yellow card and a red card (for Stuart McCloskey) is not the way you go about winning games.
"The players have been told that and they know that. That has to change. We can't afford that again this week.
"I look back to the weekend and think 'how did we win that game'?
"Ultimately it was because they didn't kick their goals but for whatever reason certain things
aren't going our way and we are losing our shape at times.
"That's why Scarlets is going to be a pivotal game, because we know they can deliver and if we don't perform, we'll be chasing shadows all night."
