22-year-old Jones played all his rugby for Ebbw Vale before joining Cross Keys, other than a stint with Sale Sharks. During his time at Cross Keys, Jones has played in both the Swalec Cup Final and in the Principality Premiership final, both against Pontypridd.
The Abergavenny born outside half, made his first appearance for the Dragons during their win over London Wasps in the 2013/14 LV=Cup at Rodney Parade. Jones went on to make two more appearances for the Welsh region during this season which went to earn him a development contract.
Jones has now become a regular starter in the match day squad for Newport Gwent Dragons as he has appeared in all three tournaments (Guinness PRO12, LV=Cup and the European Rugby Challenge Cup) this season. The fly-half played a crucial part in the Dragons win over Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park which has resulted in him starting every match for the region since.
After putting pen to paper, Dorian Jones commented: "It's great to have finally put pen to paper at the Dragons, my home region.
"I have had a great experience at both Ebbw Vale RFC and Cross Keys and I want to thank them for the help they have given me along the way.
"I am looking forward to being able to fully focus my time on growing as a player alongside the Dragons and becoming a regular starter for them."
Director of rugby Lyn Jones added: "Quite simply, Dorian is an excellent player, with an excellent skill set; more importantly, being a student of the game, we are all convinced he is going to be a major influence in creating a successful Newport Gwent Dragons.
"At the age of 22 he is as good as any 22-year-old outside half, except Dai Watkins, I have seen coming out of the Valleys of Gwent."
