Since then he's made a successful start in the GUINNESS PRO12 - in last Friday's draw with Leinster - and can now look forward to bringing up his century of appearances against Munster on Saturday.
And according to the 26-year-old, in his lowest moments he wondered whether he still had a future in rugby.
"You do have that thought at the back of your head," Bevington told the South Wales Evening Post.
"I've sat in the house on the sofa after having an operation and all my mates are in work. I'm sat there thinking my world's over, but it's not compared to what I could be doing and other things.
"It was a hard time. With a leg or shoulder injury you have a set time to return. With a groin problem you don't."
