Matt Scott crossed twice while Mike Coman and Andries Strauss also touched down to ensure the visitors left Italy with maximum points.
The Scottish outfit are now eighth; four points adrift of sixth-placed Connacht in the table.
And Hidalgo-Clyne insists that gap can be closed after a morale-boosting 29-8 win at Stadio Monigo.
"Treviso is a really hard place to come out and win," said the man-of-the-match. "We knew it was going to be a really tough fight and we thought it would be a really close game but the win really keeps us pushing for that sixth place.
"It wasn't about me, it was about the team and trying to get into that top six and we're on track."
After a cagey opening, the game burst into life midway through the first half with two tries in two minutes from Coman and Scott.
The Edinburgh pack flexed their muscles and pushed all the way over the Treviso line - Coman having the simple task of touching down for the five points.
Hidalgo-Clyne nailed the extras and within a minute that 7-0 lead was doubled as this time Scott was on hand to dot down.
Strauss' score after the break gave Treviso a mountain to climb and, while Simone Ragusi did cut the deficit when he crossed the whitewash, Scott went over for the bonus-point try for Edinburgh.
Hidalgo-Clyne was the architect for most of their good play and the Scotland scrum-half admits it's been difficult readjusting to domestic action after his international excursions.
"It's not been too easy to adjust having been with Scotland," he added. "I've not been playing consistently with a lot of game time to it's been quite tough to come into a key role and try to run the game. I've found myself a wee bit too enthusiastic."
