Now he is looking towards the end of the season, when Wales will have the chance to bid for a first ever World Cup trophy.
However, there is much to do back at the Liberty Stadium before then, with five regular-season games left in the GUINNESS PRO12.
Ospreys, who missed out on the end-of-season play-offs last year, currently sit fourth in the table - and will look to consolidate their top-four place when Zebre visit on Saturday.
And Jarvis believes success with the region is the perfect platform for him to make a case for World Cup selection.
"It would be an amazing experience to feature in a World Cup. I would love to be involved," the 28-year-old told Wales Online.
"I've got to play well until the end of the season and hopefully get involved in the training squad and take it from there.
"I've got a big finish at the Ospreys. That's my immediate attention now. It's an exciting time to be back because we are in the race to win the league.
"I want to concentrate on doing my job here and see where we are at the end of the season and take it from there."
