The scrum-half's contributions have proved invaluable in Ospreys' push for the play-offs this season, with his most recent try coming in last weekend's 53-22 victory over Zebre.
One more score over Ospreys' remaining league games will give Webb the record for the most tries in one league campaign.
And with four fixtures remaining Rees has backed the 26-year-old to put his name in the record books.
"His strike rate is fantastic," he told the South Wales Evening Post.
"Points scorers and the guys who score goals or tries are the biggest commodity in sport and Rhys is one of those.
"He is becoming a marked man so he has to adapt but he has been excellent this season."
