That victory put Edinburgh level on points with Connacht meaning they now have a top-six finish clearly in their sights.
But with just four league games remaining and Solomons' current deal up at the end of the season, the South African has revealed contact talks are still ongoing.
"There are discussions taking place and I'm sure they will come to fruition shortly," he told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"I think that we have made good progress here and I am positive about what we are doing.
"I am particularly pleased by how the team is going and very, very pleased at how our youngsters are coming through, which is part of the vision I have had for the club.
"We had to start from scratch and my first season I was not here for recruitment and I was not here for the pre-season so this is like the first season."
